June 7 Tasting

We had a great night of tasting Ostler wines, presented by Jim Jerram.  By many members judgement Jim gave one of the best of all presentations and his wines were equally well appreciated.  Despite the prices, good sales were made on the night.  We learned of the difficulty of producing wine so far south and we tasted the rewards when it all goes well.

Another notable event on the night was the fire alarm disturbing us, luckily after the tasting had finished.  Very noisy and to no known advantage.  In time we will learn of the cause.

Pips Limericks for the night

The Blue House pinot was alright
And the Caroline A, a delight
But the Caroline B
Knocked the sox fair off me
It was really the wine of the night

My wife likes the fine pinot gris
And approaches each glassful with glee
 I find pinot noir
More tasty by far
But hell! They're ALL awesome, to me
